Commission: To help cover event costs and support WHMLIS’s mission, we are requesting a 20% commission on your sales. This will contribute to maintaining the library and village parks, supporting the Merry-Go-Round Horse Restoration Program and Watch Hill Lighthouse, and sponsoring local children’s events, such as the Fourth of July Bicycle Parade.
Considerations:
WHMLIS will provide artwork bins to hold unframed prints. Each piece must be backed with firm cardboard, enclosed in a clear plastic protective sleeve, and priced individually.
You may exhibit up to 30 unframed prints at one time, and you may restock during the show if necessary. Unframed works will be sold on a "cash and carry" basis.
The artists, not the WHMLIS, are responsible to check on their stock of unframed works throughout the show.
The Watch Hill Memorial Library and Improvement Society cannot be responsible for damages to artwork.
We request that exhibitors be 15 years or older.
Displayed work must be properly framed and ready for hanging. This means that all necessary hooks or wires must be installed before delivery to the Undercroft. We do not have the supplies or skills to frame or attach wiring to artwork.
The amount you will receive for a sold piece is your specified price minus a 20% commission. Please adjust your pricing accordingly.
Artists must provide a copy of a valid RI Sales Tax Permit or complete a Temporary Sales Tax Permit (with a $10.00 fee) when dropping off their artwork. Artwork cannot be sold without the proper paperwork on file.
If you are unable to pick up your artwork, please make arrangements for someone else to do so on your behalf. The committee is not responsible for any artwork left after the designated pick-up date.
Due to limited space, we can no longer accept artwork for display purposes only. All artwork must be for sale. Please notify us if your piece is "oversized" so we can ensure proper accommodation.
If you have questions or comments regarding the show, please contact us at the email address or phone numbers below.
Thank you for participating. We look forward to seeing your works of art!
