We are excited to embark on The Westerly Memoir Project’s second season.

This summer we will offer two six-week sessions at the Westerly Public Library, beginning Tuesday, July 11, 2017.

In these fun and inspirational writing workshops, you will learn the skills to write a story about your life experience, and turn your memories into a coherent narrative with lasting value. Short writing exercises and discussions of short readings, led by Ethan Gilsdorf.  will build your writing skills and prepare you to write a short personal memoir, or essay, of approximately 1,500 to 2,000 words by the end of the six-week workshop.

As part of a community of fellow writers, you will also read and discuss each other's writing. No previous memoir writing experience necessary, but enthusiasm and dedication are expected. Classes will be limited to 12 students.

Morning session 9am - 12pm will be the introductory class

Afternoon session 2pm - 5pm will be for returning students or by permission of the instructor.

Classes are free thanks to a private donation; however, contributions the Westerly Memoir Project are welcome.  A tax-deductible donation to the WHMLIS and directed to the Memoir project can be made below.
